Job Title: Civil Designer 

Location: (Wichita, KS – Kansas City, MO – Houston, TX) 

GLMV Architecture, a full-service Architecture & Civil Engineering firm, is seeking a Full-Time Civil Designer to work out of one of their 3 offices (Wichita, KS – Kansas City, MO – Houston, TX) to help with a variety of Commercial projects. The firm serves local, state and national clients in the government, corporate, industrial, aviation, educational, healthcare, food service sectors, as well as zoos and parklands. 

Required Experience:  

  • 5+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience with an Associate Degree in related field. 
  • 2+ Years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of design preferred.  
  • Land Development Experience is required.   
  • Survey experience is a plus. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from Engineers.  
  • Plots maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to building and retaining walls.  
  • Prepares site layout designs and drafts detailed and complex drawings for items such as pads, roads, drainage, and pipelines.  
  • Prepares site grading and placement of basic erosion and sedimentation control measures.  
  • Maintains good knowledge of governmental regulations, codes and ordinances and applies them to plans, as needed.  
  • Provide Civil design support for a wide variety of small and large site development projects throughout the United States. 
  • Other duties as assigned.   

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities   

  • Strong understanding of construction process, design constraints, required deliverables.  
  • Good understanding and knowledge of civil site requirements 
  • Understanding of cross-discipline needs for continuous coordination with other architects and engineers, lead engineer, project management, commercial and procurement on multidiscipline design and construction projects 
  • Understanding of drawing coordinate systems, including State Plane Coordinates  
  • Ability to utilize and import information from GIS databases  
  • Familiar with “InfraWorks” and “AutoTURN” software  
  • Intermediate to Expert level skills with AutoCAD drafting, sheet set manager, standards, line styles, dimensions, annotations, etc.    
  • Expertise in AutoCAD 2016 or higher and AutoCAD Civil 3D  
  • Experience using Esri ArcGIS desktop software, and third party applications (Vehicle Tracking, HydroCADetc

  • NCARB certified and licensed or active on the path to licensure

Required Experience and Credentials 

  • Interior Design Degree from a CIDA accredited University

Job Title: Project Manager/Brand Manager—Hospitality

GLMV Architecture, a full-service Architecture firm, is seeking a Full-Time Project Manager for their Kansas City, Missouri office to help with Hospitality projects. The firm serves local, state and national clients in the government, corporate, industrial, aviation, educational, healthcare, food service sectors, as well as zoos and parklands. 

This Brand Management professional is responsible for specific client relationships and the planning, preparation, and delivery of a high volume of quick turn-around restaurant renovation, remodel and expansion projects as well as new construction. This is production, management, and occasionally supervisory position is accountable for delivering projects on time and within budget, and reports to the studio lead in service to the client’s industry.  Specific production contributions will include site analysis and development, concept design review; brand management review, preparation and submittal of site reports.  The work is fast-paced and requires daily interaction with client representatives, code officials and external project partners.  Travel will be required for site analysis, documentation and assessment of existing conditions, local jurisdictional meetings, and construction administration as needed.  Pleasant working environment with professional, technical, and collaborative coworkers accustomed to wearing different hats. 

 Required Experience and Credentials 

  • Registered Architect with 10+ years of professional experience with multi-state, multi-build projects.
